Our Story

Hey S.T.E.P.S. Family! We are Dr. Erika Hill, LPC, ACS, and Dr. Jamilah Jones, LPC, ACS. Our journey began at Capella University, where we met while earning our Master’s in School Counseling and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Services. After becoming school counselors for middle and high school students, we realized our mission extended beyond working solely with adolescents. We also wanted to provide Strategic Therapeutic Empowering Principle Skills to adults, schools, and businesses—helping them build healthy relationships, promote mental health awareness, and create thriving environments.

Fueled by this shared vision, we founded S.T.E.P.S. Counseling & Consulting, Inc. and pursued Ph.D.s in Counselor Education and Supervision. Today, our consulting services focus on empowering schools and businesses to strengthen their teams, reduce burnout, and foster positive workplace cultures. We offer customized workshops, professional development, and strategic guidance, all tailored to the unique challenges of educators, administrators, and corporate leaders.

S.T.E.P.S. Counseling & Consulting, Inc. also operates as a private practice providing telehealth counseling services. As licensed professional counselors in Georgia, New Jersey, and Louisiana. We are also professors, consultants, and supervisors leveraging our diverse expertise to promote mental health awareness through counseling workshops.
